Sidling up the Emotional Guidance Scale

One of my favorite tools to come from Abraham is the Emotional Guidance Scale. Abraham puts a lot of emphasis on feeling good. The better we feel, the more connected we are to the Source. And as we feel better, we drop our resistance to what is, thereby making way for what we want.

I have found that I can slide up the scale (I actually call it “sidling”) a step at a time. And, I’ve had great success coaching others using this simple technique. Just ask yourself these three questions.

1. How do I feel right now?
Use the Emotional Guidance Scale shown below to find the feeling.

2. What feeling would be slightly better that what I feel right now?
Again, use the Emotional Guidance Scale shown below to find the next higher feeling.

3. Am I willing to feel that?
If the answer is Yes, you may already be feeling better. Repeat these three steps until you are at the top of the scale.

If the answer is No, that’s great because you are being honest with yourself. Ask yourself the question again and notice if you feel a little bit better.

Don’t spend too much time with this or over-think the process. In fact, if you get stuck, I’ve found that it’s best to move on to something else. Because, you will feel better. It may take a few minutes or hours, but it will happen.
