Weighty matters
I’m ready to change my body shape.
I am not going on any diet. I am changing my mind about my body.
I have known for a long time that the fat in my body protects me from my environment in a variety of ways. I don’t need that protection, but I still have it as of right now.
In letting go, I’ll be using a few resources:
- EFT, particularly the work of Carol Look.
- The Overfed Head, by Rob Stevens: a great little book about trusting the body.
- The Only Diet There Is, by Sondra Ray: one of the first places where I discovered that I wasn’t fat, I was un-forgiving.
As this process unfolds, I expect I will find out some interesting things about my body, but mostly I expect that it will be a process of shedding the unwanted and no longer needed: beliefs, expectations, unforgiveness, pain, and, of course, fat.
Right now it’s Sunday night and I’m about to go to bed. Before I do, I’ll be doing some EFT on weight. And I’ll be asking for help from every corner, from the seen and unseen, and from those wonderfully unexpected synchronicities that always happen in every endeavor.
This journey is about learning to be fully in and completely trust my body. I invite you to do the same in the way that resonates for you. And to share your own experience and beliefs.
Let’s go!
