A number of wonderful things happened in 2008
A gratitude list. In no particular order.
- Move back to Austin
Dallas was awesome. I met so many wonderful new people. And experienced perfect contrast. It was a bit like going to the wilderness so I could find myself. That may sound like I’m putting Dallas down. I’m not — Dallas was the “wilderness” that is unfamiliar and is outside the known.
Coming back to Austin was coming back home. Home, not only where my birth family and my chosen family lives, but also where all the old pieces of self that wanted attention, wanted healing, wanted to evolve… Where all these old aspects were waiting, patiently, for me to be done with that adventure and finally here them, once and for all.
- Finding a MasterMind group
The power of a MasterMind group is a big topic right now in the personal development blogosphere. I’m not piling on here. I just want to say that now I understand why so many have told me for years that being a member of a structured and dedicated MasterMind group is so powerful. It really is.
I am so in love with this group and I am deeply appreciative of each one of the members. Each one of us is passionate about creating and living a life of abundance, love, and joy. And so we are!
- Sharing a home with my mom
When I moved back to Austin, my mom opened her home to me. What a powerful gift! I learned so much from her. We have lived together as adults in the past, but this was fully conscious, fully engaged. And it was a real gift to be able to share what I have been discovering this year with her.
- Reconnecting with old friends
Moving back to Austin was just the beginning of reconnecting with old friends. There were all the people that I had been missing for a year. And then, all of sudden, Facebook appeared in my life.
Suddenly, there are friends from high school, both in Lubbock and La Serena… old boyfriends… new friends… But Facebook is amazing — every time I log on it seems as though I get a chance to reconnect with someone else.
The feeling that all of this evokes is a kind of delicious completion without any endings… Very nice!
- Finally getting it about creating money
I’ve written about this here and elsewhere.
Here is the bottom line: When I ask for I want, it comes. Oddly enough, this means that I can’t just wish for it. I can’t just hope it will happen.
Money comes to me once I find the image of what it will look like when the manifestation has occurred and then find the feeling of receiving it. Bringing those two together is the real secret. How it happens is none of my business.
My job is to decide what I want, ask for it, let it go, and act on the inspiration that ALWAYS comes. The more I let go — the more I reach for the better feeling thoughts persistently — the quicker that I can get ok with it not coming — the quicker it comes. I love the fact that I now understand this.
- Wonderful new relationships
This year has been full of new relationships. I found a new love in my life this year in the most unexpected way. And loved myself (and him) enough to know when it was time to let go and say goodbye.
I am constantly amazed at the love and joy that I get to share with new friends, some of whom are also clients. I almost don’t have words for this, but I always work with and play with the most amazing human beings. The more I get to know them, the more in awe I find myself. So much love, so much creativity, so much power, and so very much joy…
These are not perfected human beings. These are human beings who are learning to remember who they are and how perfect they are in so many, many ways.
- Admitting the truth that I am a channel
Saying this out loud, writing about it, and living from this truth has felt like a second coming out of the closet. There are still people that I feel I want to sit down with and explain it to them, like I did when I came out as gay when I was 18. I wonder what they will think. And, as before, I eventually realize that what they think is really none of my business.
I am so grateful that I can stop pretending to be or do something different. What this means is still not completely clear to me. Like everything else, it is an unfolding story as I get clearer and clearer about what I want to experience.
Of course, the best part of being a channel is that I get to introduce the Communion of Light to so many people. It’s such an honor to be there when that happens. The Communion is unfailing in their gift of clarity — they see us as we already are. And they are insistent on treating us as we are: their equals — even when we believe that we are something less than magnificent.
They are gentle, yet prodding. They are direct, but they have a very dry wit that comes out at the most unexpected moments. They see us for who we really are and have an infinite patience while we sort all of that out. Every time I get to blend my energy with theirs, my gratitude is so deep.
I specifically want to thank the ones who are sharing this three-dimensional reality with me who have helped me get ok with being a channel: Paul, Slade, Dennis, Lori, Kevin, my mom, Doug, David T., Nick, Sandi, Christine, Jason, Carmen, and Jen. All of you have helped me ground this magnificent and wild ride and I really can’t thank you enough for that.
Wow — what a wonderful year this has been!
I was led to create this list after reading Slade Roberson’s latest post at Shift Your Spirits. He issued a challenge of sorts to come up with a gratitude list for 2008.
You could do the same thing. Take a pen and paper. Or make a list here in the comments. Or post one on your own blog (be sure to leave a comment with a link so we can all read about your wonderful year).
The great thing about sharing your list is that you are bringing focus to all the good that came forth in your life as well as offering new possibilities for others to think about.
Personally, I can’t wait to read all about your year. So share away!!
As you do so, by the way, you are quietly planting seeds for the new year. Not a to-do list. But the thoughts and feelings that, when they combine, become the fuel for the next experiences that are coming into your life.
What do you want to have happen in the next year? What new adventures are you calling forth? How much joy? How much abundance? How much love?
Dream big. Feel what it feels like. See yourself having it. Tell the new story. Draw a picture. Film a movie of it in your mind. Combine your image, your concept, with the feeling of what it will feel like in the moment after the manifestation.
Then… let it all go. Take a deep breath and give it over to God, Goddess, the Universe, Infinite Intelligence, the Christ within you — whatever form your higher power takes. If you want, let it go with a ritual — burning bowl, pressing the delete key, tossing sand into the ocean, whatever works for you.
Now is the time for trust.
If you live in the northern hemisphere, the earth is still far away from the sun. The days are short and the nights are long. And we have the promise of a brighter, sunnier, warmer day to come. It is coming. You can trust. Right now.
If you live in the southern hemisphere, you know all about the brightness of new beginnings. You see all the beauty of creation everywhere you look. The sun is warm and high in the sky. The days are long and summer is in high gear. You know that anything is possible. Your dreams are coming true. Right now.
The great thing about the Law of Attraction is that you only have to offer a bit of a vibration in the direction you want to go and then the Universe begins to respond. Quickly. So, offer your vibration of trust. Begin to tell the new story about how your life is more and more wonderful, how you are trusting in your own creative power, and the inevitability of the Universe bringing you what you desire. This is a new year, after all. Enjoy it immensely!!

Frank,
I loved reading your list – thank you for sharing it!
Happy New Year!
Slade
@Slade –
Thank YOU for the inspiration!! And, thanks for your very clear guidance about how to blend with the non-physical without losing ourselves in the process…
