Yesterday, I had an interesting conversation with a friend of mine who lives abroad. Like, so many companies here, his firm was taking a harder line on their operating capital. They don’t want their money stuck in a frozen account or lost because it’s not insured or backed by their national government.

As we were talking, he was saying how scared he was about the possibility of a global depression. He mentioned how, in the Great Depression, many people starved to death, even in the USA.

We talked a bit more in this vein. I was inspired to say to him that many of the things that initially went wrong in the Great Depression have now been fixed, at least in the countries that have a clear institutional history of the event. Places like the US, the UK, and most of Europe, have processes in place that allow them to stop a run on banks or a market panic. This is as a result of what was learned about managing market economies in the 1930s.

Regardless of where you are, this is an excellent time to start paying attention to the intention you are offering around your money, your job, and your sense of economic security.

Here are some questions to ask yourself:

Am I worried about the economy?

Am I worried about my money?

Do I think that my ability to make a living is tied to market conditions?

Am I worried about being laid off from my job?

Do I think that what happens on Wall Street or in the City affects my personal prosperity?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, I would like to invite you to start turning those beliefs around deliberately.

For the best way to do that, I asked the Communion of Light, who have a broader non-physical perspective, to offer their recommendations. Here is what they had to say:

It is simple enough to say to yourself, “I do not believe this bad news.”

But that is not always enough for you to break free of the beliefs that you have been nurturing for, perhaps, most of your life.

We would recommend that you begin, right now, to find things in your immediate environment that you appreciate. Bringing the power of appreciation to any issue will always help you line up with the experience you desire.

So, as you focus on how much and how deeply you appreciate that which surrounds you (in other words, as you give your attention to the fact that “what is” is ok with you), then it is somewhat easier to move your attention slightly further away.

You might want to bring your attention to the appreciation you have for the money that is in your pocket.

And then bring your attention to the appreciation you have for the money that is in your bank account.

And then bring your attention a bit further out — appreciating the fact that you are receiving money through some specific channel: a job, clients, a pension (one or more, as your particular case may be).

Then you could gently bring your attention even a bit further out into the world — appreciating the fact that you are part of a larger economy. That the role you play in this economy is not based on how much you earn or how much you spend. Your role is based on your intention.

As you decide that you want to see evidence of a world that is getting better and better, and that you want to experience greater and greater abundance for yourself, then you will begin to notice (and sooner, rather than later) how many experiences and thoughts and feelings of abundance that you are already having.

As you continue to appreciate and notice what you are wanting, it is your focus on these things that draws them to you. For you are offering a clear vibration to the universe. And the universe is responding to you via the mechanics of the Law of Attraction.

The more you appreciate, the more you become aware of your own prosperity and abundance. And the more you appreciate, the more you experience greater prosperity and abundance. You begin to see it everywhere. Your attention is drawn more and more in the direction that you have set with your intention.

And, so, as you are practicing this, notice that you may have thoughts and feelings and experiences that seem to contradict your desire for greater abundance.

These are only the remnants of old vibrations that you once offered. Pay no attention to them. See them for what they are: phantoms of the past.

For today you are focused on who you are and who you are becoming: a magnificent, powerful, deliberate creator!
